HEATING CURVES IN SEVRA HEAT PUMPS

What does the function of the heating curve, also known as the weather curve in SEVRA heat pumps, mean? When the outside temperature drops, a higher temperature in the water supplying the radiators or underfloor heating is needed to maintain thermal comfort in the building. Conversely, when the outside temperature rises, the water temperature in the system can be lowered to avoid unnecessarily overheating the building, thus saving electrical energy. Thanks to the use of intelligent control, the user does not need to manually lower or raise the temperature on the heat pump controller.

What does the heating curve function, also known as the weather curve, mean in SEVRA heat pumps?

When the outside temperature drops, a higher temperature of the water powering the radiators or underfloor heating is needed to maintain thermal comfort in the building.
On the other hand, when the outside temperature rises, the water temperature in the system can be lowered to avoid overheating the building unnecessarily, thus saving electrical energy.

Thanks to the use of intelligent control, the user does not have to manually adjust the temperature on the heat pump controller.

Heat pumps have an outdoor temperature sensor and, based on the ambient temperature read by the pump, they can decrease or increase the water temperature in the central heating system.

The user can choose from eight pre-programmed curves, arranged from the warmest to the coldest, and a ninth curve, the range of which can be set by the installer in the service menu.

Example:
Underfloor heating – selected curve no. 6 – outside temperature -10 °C – automatically selected supply water temperature 31 °C
Underfloor heating – selected curve no. 6 – outside temperature + 10 °C – automatically selected supply water temperature 28 °C

Detailed instructions on how to enable this function can be found in the instructions for the wired controller provided with the heat pump. The instructions are also available for download on the manufacturer’s website:
